Classical Art Memes For The Art Lovers Out There

It's easy to laugh at classical art memes because of the humorous ways we can find ourselves in them. It's crazy to think someone 100 or even 500 years ago could've painted a human expression that we can easily interpret and relate to today.

It makes me think we're not that different from the people who were building cathedrals and had no iPhones. The same gestures, the same feelings, the same quarrels and dramas were happening back then, only in a different font.

When somebody asked me what my superpower would be, I'd always say time travel. I'd love to visit ancient Greece and Egypt, and see how people really were back then, how they acted and how normal day-to-day life was. It's funny, but I never fantasized about using that superpower to go to the future; to me, it seems like a rather ugly and scary place, plus I don't even want to know. I wish I could travel far away from technology and into nature's dominion.

Where has all this progress taken us? We live in such a hurry, and it seems as though there is no time for contemplation and for feeling that the universe is a huge, unsolved mystery. Maybe people in ancient Greece felt that about the past, but I doubt it; I definitely think it's us, not them, who have gone too far.

Maybe someone from the future will se our greatest technology as a joke, but I hope they still laugh with our memes.

Trends change and will continue to do so, but for art lovers, it will bring timeless laughs through classical art 'classics'.
